Siobhan is petite, a ballerina, and Aileen’s one best friend; but, more than that, she’s Liam’s sister—Aileen’s crush. She sees Aileen as more than a friend, she hopes one day they’ll be sisters. And when she receives a call, promising exciting news, she can’t wait to get over to Aileen’s and find out what has her friend so ecstatic.Getting to Aileen’s is derailed, though, when Siobhan’s car takes a spin on the icy road and she has to be rushed to the hospital. As the news unfolds, she learns it’s more than she or her best friends, Aileen, Kassidy, or Maeve can fathom in a lifetime. The troublesome thing, however, is Siobhan’s injuries sustained in her car crash. From that moment, she must battle through feelings of doubt, wanting to allow her friends to move forward with their lives, yet feelings of envy as she realizes she may be holding them back.
New and unexpected relationships form with the doctor, AJ Cooper, who’d treated Siobhan, while she and her “sisters” learn that God’s timing is not theirs, and trusting Him is paramount to any plan they think might work. Siobhan is an independent young woman, who doesn’t appear to like being told she can’t. This sparks frustration, in AJ, but before all is said and done, they each find they’re not to rely on their own strength, but God’s.
Again, Marianne Evans has placed a finger on a leaky vein in my heart. It’s that place that says, “I will not let you down, even if I cripple myself. I will make this work.” It takes a voice of reason, and truth, to bring my thinking back to center and focus on what’s most important—faith that God’s in control. The addition of Dr. AJ Cooper to the lineup to our Sisters in Spirits’ support system is that balancing voice of reason—not to mention a perfect match for someone as determined to excel as Siobhan.
Siobhan’s Beat is also the perfect complement to the Sisters in Spirit lineup of stories, as Marianne shares us her heart for allowing God to knit our hearts to those who will help ground us in our faith, as well as give us wings to fly.

Marianne Evans has a writing style much like a beautiful quilt, expertly constructed and wonderfully woven together. I find myself wanting to take her books out again and again and wrap myself in the sweet, spirited, and life-changing stories. I read the first book in this series, and so was looking forward to delving into another Sisters in Spirit novel. Siobhan’s Beat proved just as magical as Aileen's Song, and I am certainly hooked and looking forward to the rest in this series.
This is a review of the second book in the "Sisters in Spirit" series by Marianne Evans. This book focus' on Siobhan Douglas, a beautiful, talented, graceful ballerina and a woman of faith. With her friends, Alieen, Kassidy, and Maeve, they make-up the newly signed group "Sisters in Spirit." Siobhan is not a singer, but she shares her talent, grace and love for God with others by ballet dancing to music while her friends sing. Things are going well as they get ready for making their first CD/DVD and going on tour; but after a freak accident, everything changes for Siobhan. She is devastated with so many uncertainties about the tour or even dancing again. " Why did this happen," “What about the group or the tour,” she ponders. Her friends and brother Liam rally around her during the long recovery and help Siobhan keep the faith. She meets Doctor Al Cooper in the hospital, who is also a man of faith and he is an integral part of her recovery. I loved this book. It is my favorite, probably because I can relate to Siobhan's story, and the love that develops between Siobhan and Dr. Cooper is amazing. I would be happy to meet a guy like AJ Cooper! ) You will cry with and root for Siobhan as she recovers. This book beautifully shows that even with our faith, we can still go through difficult struggles, distrust, being weak; however, God and those around us can help us get passed it and turn it into an even deeper faith and love for God. Everything happens for a reason and this book demonstrates how God can use accidents and struggles to bring glory to Himself and redemption to the story of our life.
Siobhan’s Beat by Marianne Evans....As I was extremely excited to dive into another Sisters in Spirit novel, Siobhan’s story had me on the edge of my seat, full of tears, full of joy! Talk about conquering the world by storm with an amazing comeback! Siobhan did just that! In that she taught me how to be a stronger person and that no matter what happens to bring you down, it will not bring you down. God is with you, Sisters are with you, Loved ones are with you, always always! That is something I forget sometimes, it was so great to get reminded of that. Siobhan meets her match in her doctor, however. Their story is full of joy, laughter and heartache a time or two, but it’s one that will have you wanting to jump into the book and hug them both and hold on tight. They take you on a fairytale that all girls dreams about. And dreams are possible! This was another reminder to me that my dreams, go for them! Never give up! God loves you and you are everything to Him. Thank you Marianne for yet another amazing read! Truly love this set!! Happy Reading to Everyone!
